Jury and Winners Selection

Distinguished Jury

A distinguished jury of reviewers from multiple disciplines who possess expertise in digital media and/or children's learning will judge eligible applications in the mobile learning prize category. The Electric Company prize will be determined by a sub-group of the distinguished jury in collaboration with staff members of Sesame Workshop. The jury includes leaders such as:

  • Allison Druin, Associate Professor and Director of the Human Computer Interaction Lab, University of Maryland

  • Gary Knell, President and CEO, Sesame Workshop

Finalist and Winner Selection

A multi-disciplinary expert review team will vet all eligible applications based on the scoring criteria for both the Mobile Learning and Literacy Learning prize categories. Up to five finalists in each category will be selected by a distinguished jury and invited to attend a high profile event held at E3 Expo where they will pitch their idea to industry and educational leaders. One winner will be selected in each category at this 'quick-pitch' competition.
