
Forty years after Joan Ganz Cooney's landmark study stimulated the creation of Sesame Street, Sesame Workshop has established a new center devoted to accelerating children's learning in a rapidly changing world.
The Joan Ganz Cooney Center will focus new attention on the challenges children face today, asking the 21st century equivalent of her original question, "How can emerging media help children learn?"

Cooney Center Fellows Program
The Cooney Fellows Program encourages research, innovation, and dissemination to promote children’s literacy learning. Cooney Fellows participate in a wide range of projects that address gaps in the knowledge base and, in doing so, develop broad exposure to scholarship, policy, and practice in the field of digital media and learning. Applications for this professional development program are open for the 2010-2011 academic year.
