The First Annual Symposium
Logging Into the Playground: How Digital Media Are Shaping Children's Learning
The Center's inaugural symposium will be held in New York City on May 9th. The invitation-only gathering will engage leaders in research, industry, policy, philanthropy and education—the key sectors that must work together to effectively harness digital media to advance children's learning. The symposium will also be a forum to release research and policy briefs, including a paper authored by Dr. James Paul Gee, Mary Lou Fulton Presidential Professor of Literacy Studies at Arizona State University and author of the widely acclaimed book, What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning and Literacy. Other important elements include: interactive technology demonstrations, video presentations, moderated panel discussions, announcement of industry and research partnerships and the re-launch of the Center's website.
