Ingrid Erickson, Ph.D.

Ingrid Erickson, Ph.D.

Dr. Erickson is a Research Associate at the Joan Ganz Cooney Center. She received her Ph.D. from the Center for Work, Technology and Organization in the Department of Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University in 2009, where she studied the convergence of mobile technology, the urban environment, and social organization. As a recent Research Fellow at the Social Science Research Council, Ingrid helped to establish the New Youth City Learning Network, a MacArthur Foundation-funded project to support the development of innovative digital media and learning opportunities for New York City youth among informal learning organizations such as museums, libraries and after school programs. She has also conducted research with the Social Computing Group at IBM's T J Watson Research Center and at Boeing's Phantom Works research division. Ingrid has an M.S. in Information from the School of Information at University of Michigan and an M.A. in religious studies from University of Chicago Divinity School. Prior to attending graduate school, she worked for 10 years as an editor in the publishing industry.
